Spring is here!

If ever there were a spring day so perfect,
so uplifted by a warm intermittent breeze

that it made you want to throw
open all the windows in the house

and unlatch the door to the canary's cage,
indeed, rip the little door from its jamb,

a day when the cool brick paths
and the garden bursting with peonies

seemed so etched in sunlight
that you felt like taking

a hammer to the glass paperweight
on the living room end table,

releasing the inhabitants
from their snow-covered cottage

so they could walk out,
holding hands and squinting

into this larger dome of blue and white,
well, today is just that kind of day.

Billy Collins - US Poet Laureate

Happy Spring to you all!  It's always such a wonderful time of the year - it's the time when we want time to slow down so we can enjoy the wonderful months between now and next winter.

Our April meeting will not be on the first Monday of the month as usual because that is the day after Easter and it was very difficult for the church ladies to serve a brunch that day.

The brunch meeting will be on Monday, April 13, at 10AM at Lake St. Methodist Church. The cost is $10 and reservations must be made or cancelled by Thurs., April 9.  Reservations go to Loreen Yager - 715-836-7801,
Mike Harden will present a program on wild flowers.
